Our Story

It started with Craigslist.

On June 11, 2004, Scott posted:
I like roadtrips, full-moon hikes, organic tomatoes, summer concerts, backpacking in Asia, camping, avocados, burningman, gardening, sleep-over parties, and making up words. I have great friends. I read books. Many books. I like to get and give footrubs. I can be shy. I've been to naked parties. Friends call me from around the country for advice. I have been fingerprinted three times. Cats like me. My favorite ice cream flavors are chai and cardamon. My favorite holiday is Tu B'shvat.

I want a partner to join me in buying a house, making a garden, throwing parties, and raising kids. But, first we need to visit a few more countries. You get extra points if you have freckles, are vegetarian, or are a member of the tribe.

The same day, Jennifer responded:
I love crosswalks where you can cross diagonally, beautiful views, waking up without an alarm clock, books, cotton, baths, artichokes, learning new things, farmers markets.

I'm a vegetarian, Jewish, 33, 5'3, live in SF, brown curly hair, blue eyes.

That led us to our first date on June 20th, 2004. We got engaged on August 19th, 2006.
